Shawlands Project: Secondary Research in Sketchbook

Shawlands Project: Primary Research in Sketchbook

Shawlands Project: Mindmaps of Initial Ideas

To begin with I have shown my developing ideas by producing several mindmaps.

Cooper App

Another task we was given for unit 12 was to create an app for the copper gallery. We was asked questions such as "what apps are your favourite and why?", "what draws you to an app?", "what is a feature you particularly look for in an app?". After discussing in a team and working together to create a mind map we was able to see what people want for the cooper gallery app. We then was set to create our own apps using ideas and developing what we had previously discussed. By doing this the creators of the app where able to see what the most popular feature was and what will draw people into purchasing the app.

Knitwear

For unit 12 our class was asked to produce a 30cm square each using either weave or knit. We could choose any material as long as it was the colour black for example, bin bags, black fabric, black straws, black wool e.c.t. The purpose for the squares was to create a dress that was not the same the whole way around it, each square would be individual and unique. To do this we had to work as a team to create enough squares to create the whole dress. Also we had to problem solve for example working out how much materials we needed to use to create the whole square. We was given 6hours to complete a square, not everyone in the class completed a 30cm square so this was another problem we had to solve and how we could improve for future activities.

Perspective Model

For the Shawlands project I have built a model of the library wall using card, I have done this to get a better perspective of what the wall looks like and what I have to work onto.
